Our Space Environment Simulation Chamber is designed to reproduce major environmental conditions encountered by spacecraft materials in low Earth orbit. The system integrates high vacuum, atomic oxygen irradiation, ultraviolet exposure, and thermal cycling, allowing each environment to be applied independently or in combination within a single platform.
The chamber is equipped with a 2,200 L/s turbomolecular pump and a 1,000 L/min rotary pump, providing a base pressure below 10⁻⁷ Torr. A cryogenic cooling system and halogen-lamp heating module enable sample temperatures to be controlled from approximately −150 °C to +150 °C. An integrated UV-C source provides irradiation at wavelengths of 185 and 254 nm.
The facility includes a retarding potential analyzer for particle-energy characterization, a Faraday cup for beam-current measurement, and multiple temperature sensors for monitoring test conditions. Additional ports are available for instruments such as a spectrometer and a quartz crystal microbalance.
These capabilities enable detailed characterization of the simulated environment and quantitative evaluation of material degradation, including mass loss, erosion yield, surface modification, and changes in material properties.

Our Moon Environment Simulator recreates electrostatically charged lunar-surface conditions and provides a repeatable experimental platform for evaluating technologies that interact with charged lunar regolith.
Lunar regolith simulant is spread to a thickness of approximately 50 mm in a 1,040 × 2,000 mm acrylic tray. Because electrostatic charging is highly sensitive to atmospheric moisture, experiments are conducted inside a humidity-controlled, nitrogen-filled glovebox.
A negative-ion generator applies voltages of up to −20 kV to charge the simulant surface. Mounted on a linear actuator, the charging device moves across the tray to generate a wide charged test area, while the resulting surface potential is measured using a non-contact electrostatic sensor.
Following surface charging, test devices can be translated or driven across the regolith to quantitatively evaluate surface-potential measurement, electrostatic charge mitigation, contact electrification, and electrical energy-harvesting performance.
The simulator supports a wide range of lunar-surface technologies, including wheels, rovers, electrodes, sensors, and payload systems.

Our Optics Laboratory provides a stable experimental environment for the development and evaluation of planar diffractive optical elements.
The laboratory is equipped with a 532 nm single-longitudinal-mode laser that provides a highly coherent, low-divergence, and stable TEM₀₀ beam for precision optical measurements. The laser source is thermally stabilized using a water-cooling system to ensure reliable and repeatable operation.
Optical systems are assembled on four-meter-long vibration-isolated optical tables, enabling the extended propagation distances required for testing optical elements with large focal lengths. The laboratory also includes CMOS cameras for point-spread-function and image measurements, optical power and intensity meters, and a range of optomechanical and beam-conditioning components.
The facility supports quantitative evaluation of focusing characteristics, imaging performance, diffraction efficiency, and optical intensity distributions of planar diffractive optical elements, including Fresnel zone plates and photon sieves.
