The STAR* Lab was pleased to host Vinh X. Ho, a researcher from the Agency for Science Technology and Research (A*STAR), Singapore, during his visit from April 28 to May 2, 2026.

Dr. Ho is currently affiliated with the Institute of Materials Research and Engineering (IMRE) at A*STAR, where his research focuses on advanced optical and optoelectronic systems, including photodetectors, nanophotonic structures, and applied optics. His work spans from device fabrication to system-level optical characterization, with strong expertise in simulation tools and experimental optics platforms.

During his visit, Vinh X. Ho engaged in a range of collaborative activities with STAR* Lab members, including technical consulting sessions and in-depth research discussions. He also delivered a seminar on “Lightweight, Flexible, Large Aperture Fresnel Zone Lenses for Space Applications”, and participated in laboratory demonstrations on diffractive space lens performance evaluation. In addition, meetings were held with STAR* Lab researchers to explore potential avenues for future collaboration.

This visit provided valuable insights into cutting-edge developments in lightweight space optics and diffractive lens technologies, which are increasingly important for next-generation satellite and aerospace systems. The exchange of ideas is expected to strengthen ongoing research directions and foster future international collaboration between STAR* Lab and A*STAR. f9f02d2b69abf991fe4a4861e5abe2bc_1777862243_2576.jpg
